| That was a good race, but it's really hard to convince people watching at home that it is one of the biggest races on the schedule when the stands appear less than half full. |

I do agree to a point, but it hurts Indy that there are SO many seats TO be empty. I mean, yeah there was no doubt that attendance was down considerably, but there were still more people there than at a lot of other tracks. I think the tire problems a couple years ago, and the lack of passing, along with the economy of course have really taken it's toll. But it also doesn't help that there's over 250,000 seats to fill. |

I'd add to that that the seats that appear all the time on tv are also some of the least desirable, which makes attendance look worse than it probably is too.
Like I said, I enjoyed the race yesterday, the announcers were just killing me with all the talk of what a major race it was and of Ganassi's 'trifecta'. I'm pretty sure that if you asked Ganassi what his 3 biggest races are they would be the 24 hours of Daytona, the Daytona 500, and the Indy 500. |

| While we are on the subject of TV, not only were the announcers not great but they seemed to miss out on most of the passing throughout the day, I can watch it better with just timing and scoring than I could on the TV. |

| I have one "comment" about the race on sunday....in regards to the bogus yellow flags at any given race......there was a caution thrown, not sure which lap, but over the PA, as well as the big video screen, they said it was for debris on the track, they showed the debris, which happened to be RIGHT IN FRONT OF US!!! everyone around us saw it and agreed it was there and caution needed to be thrown......THEY NEVER PICKED IT UP!!! it stayed on the track the entire race......hello??? we all swore they threw the caution to get the field bunched up again for the end of the race........ |

| I agree that there are alot of seats to fill at Indy. I have never been there but my dad tells me that alot of seats are not good anyway. Also, Nascar is always comparing their race to the Indy 500 and that this is one of the most important races but I don't think it's the same as the Indy 500. I don't even think its as big for the Nascar guys as Daytona, Charlotte 600, Darlington or Bristol even. Winning 4 Brickyard 400's is not the same as winning 4 Indy 500's but they are always comparing them. AJ Foyt, Al Unser and Rick Mears stand alone as the best drivers in the tracks history. |

You're right. You cannot compare Indy to the Brickyard. It's like apples to oranges. I go to both and they are different in their own special ways.
P.S. Way to go Jamie. It was so nice to see him win!
